New “Transformers” Movie On The Way
As a child of the 80s, I am thrilled about the new TransFormers film. Yahoo Movies has the trailer, in case you haven’t already seen it. If this has any of the stuff we loved as a kid, it’ll be the summer blockbuster to beat. Giant shape-changing robots fighting each other — who won’t pay ten bucks to see that?
There was nothing cooler to me during childhood than Transformers. In the US, the show only aired for 3 years before ending with Transformers: The Movie. The movie really shows its age but the first 15 minutes are just great. It’s all-out robot war, with laser beams and ruined metal. You wouldn’t think a robot’s “death” could be tragic, but this movie makes you feel it. For many years, that was it for the Transformers — though it kept on going in other countries for years. In the 90s, it came back as Transformers Armada, then again as the great Beast Wars show. Just goes to show you, seeing giant robots fight never gets old.
